The SEM with EDS and XRD were used to examine the physical and chemical changes in the sorbents during sulfidation. The active metal oxides components were dispersed in the char matrix as nanosize particles resulting in a high reactivity of the sorbents towards H₂S and COS contained in coal gases. Under the conditions in this study, the sorbents can effectively remove H₂S and COS from the simulated coal gases with high efficiency. Sulfur removal is influenced by the level of iron-loading. The presence of Mo along with Fe in the char-supported sorbents can significantly increase the desulfurization efficiency.]]> Sat 24 Mar 2018 07:40:21 AEDT ]]> A comparative study on the intrinsic reactivity and structural evolution during gasification of chars from biomass and different rank coals https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:40287 Mon 29 Jan 2024 17:55:22 AEDT ]]> Insights into coke formation during thermal reaction of six different distillates from the same coal tar https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:38043 Mon 20 May 2024 12:05:43 AEST ]]> Assembly-reassembly of coal fly ash into Cu-SSZ-13 zeolite for NH3-SCR of NO via interzeolite transformations https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:46281 3 mediated selective catalytic reduction (NH3-SCR) of NO. The raw CFA can be converted to ANA or FAU primary zeolite by an “assembly” step and CHA resultant zeolite by the subsequent “reassembly” step in the hydrothermal alkaline solution. We focus on the mechanism of the CFA-to-CHA process and the NH3-SCR performance of the Cu-SSZ-13 zeolite. The synthesized Cu-SSZ-13 possesses a standard CHA-type framework structure and controllable Al placement. It shows a high NO conversion rate that is comparable to the commercial Cu-SSZ-13. This approach enables the facile transformation of raw CFA waste to Cu-SSZ-13 zeolite with desirable composition and catalytic property, which provides insights into the formation mechanism during the interzeolite transformations process.]]> Mon 14 Nov 2022 15:34:54 AEDT ]]> Effect of temperature and gasification gas from char on the reactions of volatiles generated from rapid pyrolysis of a low rank coal https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:37929 Mon 05 Jul 2021 13:26:41 AEST ]]> Effect of volatiles' reaction on coking of tar during pyrolysis of Naomaohu coal in a downer-bed reactor https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:37933 103 °C/min) and temperatures (550-800 °C). The tar composition was analyzed by gas chromatography with the simulated distillation method and a comprehensive two-dimensional gas chromatography/mass spectrometry. The structure of coke suspended in tar (Coke-S) and char was characterized by electron spin resonance, Raman and thermogravimetry. The reaction of volatiles during coal pyrolysis is more significant in the downer-bed reactor, due to the increased interaction between different volatile radical fragments or with char, leading to increased coke yield and lower tar quality. In addition, the volatile radical fragments are dominated by the core structure of aromatic carbon at higher than 650 °C in the downer-bed reactor. In the second thermal field in the downer-bed reactor, Coke-S produced by these fragments has more macromolecular structures and greater stability than char obtained at the same temperature.]]> Mon 05 Jul 2021 13:21:44 AEST ]]> A magnetically recoverable Fe₃O₄-NH₂-Pd sorbent for capture of mercury from coal derived fuel gas https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:30802 Fri 24 Aug 2018 08:58:46 AEST ]]> Catalytic upgrading of coal pyrolysis volatiles by porous carbon materials derived from the blend of biochar and coal https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:38270 Fri 20 Aug 2021 12:58:53 AEST ]]> Biomass Carbon Magnetic Adsorbent Constructed by One-Step Activation Method for the Removal of Hg0 in Flue Gas https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:51494 Fri 08 Sep 2023 11:58:10 AEST ]]> Impact of chemical structure of coal on coke quality produced by coals in the similar category https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:49137 Fri 05 May 2023 12:00:41 AEST ]]> Coal-based sulfur hybrid sorbent for removal of Hg0 from flue gas.
